ELB at the CyberJoin Knowledge Transfer Days 2026

On June 17 and 18, 2026, ELB participated in the Knowledge Transfer Days hosted by the Transformation Hub at the Materials Testing Institute of the University of Stuttgart.
During the event, Dr. Buling presented how modern surface technologies can help overcome existing material limitations and unlock new potential for industrial lightweight construction.
The presentation focused on innovative surface solutions that make it possible to significantly increase the performance of lightweight metals such as aluminum and magnesium, thereby opening up new fields of application. For example, in highly abrasive applications, lighter aluminum components can be used in place of stainless steel without compromising functionality or durability.
In addition, we demonstrated how advanced surface technologies can achieve significant weight reduction while maintaining the same level of performance. This opens up new possibilities for efficient designs in mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
