Complex workpiece geometries and high-quality large parts are the basis for precisely trimmed systems in many key industries. To maintain the required product properties over the entire life cycle, ELB refines complex geometries and even parts weighting several tons – from purely decorative color anodization to FDA-compliant and highly wear-resistant multifunctional layers.
ELB offers the entire process chain for this: the individual planning, the fully automated process technology, and the specialist knowledge. Even devices especially developed for transporting large and heavy parts are available. The handling and treatment are carried out by selected and trained personnel with highly practical experience. The processes are certified within the framework of quality management according to DIN ISO 9001: 2015.
Large parts with a maximum dimension of 3,000 x 6,000 mm and weights of up to 2,500 kg and plate thicknesses of up to 250 mm are processed fully automatically at ELB. Our production programs also include the mechanical pre-treatment of these parts. We develop individual solutions upon your special requests.
With the aid of engineering drawings, we identify applications that are subject to particularly tight dimensional tolerances. Through targeted masking, these applications are protected from a dimensional change by thickness increase. Furthermore, it is possible to adapt the layer thicknesses depending on the position on the component. Hereby, the layer thickness can homogeneous all over the specimen or locally adjusted. ELB discusses and clarifies all quality-relevant aspects occurring directly with the customer in due time.
The special manufacturing processes of large or oversized parts have influence on the metallurgical properties of the component. To ensure an optimal surface treatment, particular attention must be paid to the nature of the structure and composition of the alloy.
