Our colleague, Laura Guetse, had the pleasure of opening the session on “Coatings and Surface Technologies” at the “Young Tribologists” today. In her presentation entitled “Dry Sliding Tribological Properties of a Polymer Coating System” she presented…
Patented PEEK dispersions
We are very pleased to have been granted the European patent for the coating dispersion and the production of it!
Material testing 2021: Surface technology for additive manufacturing
Even though the “Materials Testing 2021” conference, organized by the Steel Institute VDEh in cooperation with the DGM (German Society for Materials Science) and the DVM (German Association for Materials Research and Testing), unfortunately had to switch to a virtual event at short notice, our R&D department…
3D – more freedom – maximum protection
Additively manufactured components made of light metals such as aluminum, titanium or magnesium offer enormous degrees of freedom in geometry and complexity. Our Ultraceramic® finishing can protect such individual components from corrosion in the long term.
Latest research topics at MaterialsWeek
Our R&D staff presented the latest research results in the form of posters and a video at the DGM’s international conference “MaterialsWeek”.
Tuned Micro Cosmos For Multi-Macro Value
It was a pleasure to present our results on laser patterned ceramic and hybrid surfaces for friction and wear minimization.
With the DLIP (Direct Laser Interference Patterning) strategy, we can further increase the positive properties of our surfaces in the direction of friction and wear minimization.
Publication in the magazine “Lubricants”: “Lifting Lightweight Metals to a New Level—Tribological Improvement by Hybrid Surface Solutions on Aluminum…
We are pleased about a new publication in the magazine “Lubricants” and about our possibilities to raise light metals to a new tribological level.
Our hybrid surfaces can further expand the application range of light metals through the novel laser coating process, because this makes aluminum but also magnesium particularly resistant, friction is significantly reduced as well as wear on the counterpart.
Innovative Polymer Coating Systems – Applied by Laser Sintering Technique
During the virtual poster session, we were able to present our successes of laser-applied PEEK coatings and show how multi-layer systems can increase component lifetimes by several orders of magnitude.
Lifting Lightweight Metals to a New Level
Under the title “Lifting Lightweight Metals to a New Level – Tribological Improvement by Hybrid Surface Solutions on Aluminium and Magnesium” we were able to present the amazing results of our…
Surface & Coatings Technology
Increasing the application fields of magnesium by ultraceramic®: Corrosion and wear protection by plasma electrolytical oxidation (PEO) of Mg alloys. Due to its low density and high strength, magnesium has increasing potential in the lightweight area, especially as a material for structural components.
