Last week, the IMA World Magnesium Conference 2025 brought together leading figures from across the global magnesium sector in Salzburg — and CERANOD® was proud to participate as both exhibitor and sponsoring partner.
The conference featured a diverse program of presentations covering topics such as market outlooks, sustainability strategies, biomedical applications, and advanced processing. It highlighted just how central magnesium has become to future-focused industries.
A standout moment was the presentation by our Managing Director, Dr. Anna Buling, titled:
“Lifting Magnesium into Challenging Applications by Ultraceramic® PEO Protection.”
She demonstrated how our surface technology enables magnesium components to perform reliably even in demanding environments.
At our booth, we had the opportunity to connect with many attendees. One recurring topic was the environmental aspect of our Ultraceramic® PEO coating, which generated strong interest among those looking for sustainable surface solutions.
Yet, challenges persist — particularly Europe’s heavy reliance on magnesium imports from China, which remained a key topic of discussion throughout the event.
From market insights to future biomedical use cases, IMA 2025 once again affirmed the vibrancy and global relevance of the magnesium community.
