ELB shows its current results on the international stage.
Our R&D employees presented our most recent research results in the form of posters and a video at the DGM’s international “MaterialsWeek" conference.
Day one was all about additive manufacturing and innovative materials. Our Ultraceramic® surfaces on 3D-printed metallic components were particularly convincing here, as they reliably protect the individual structures from corrosion. Our contribution was therefore: “Advanced Corrosion Protection of AM Light Metals through PEO CERANOD® Ultraceramic®”.
The second day was focused on lightweight design using advanced materials. This was an excellent fit for presenting our research results in the field of innovative laser-applied multi-layer systems, which we have achieved in our current research project “ATSM“. Through statistical data evaluation, we have succeeded in developing a system that not only makes light metals corrosion-resistant and permanently wear-resistant, but also, a solid lubricant that significantly reduces friction and provides protection.
