ELB is supporting Rennschmiede Pforzheim in the rollout of its new Formula Student car

With the unveiling of its new race car, the RSP26 Aquamarine, Rennschmiede Pforzheim has reached another important milestone in the club’s history. The newly developed vehicle was presented to the public for the first time during the official rollout event.
As a sponsor, we are delighted to support Rennschmiede Pforzheim on its journey and to help train future engineers. Formula Student offers students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and gain experience in the areas of design, manufacturing, project management, and teamwork.
The new RSP26 Aquamarine exemplifies the high level of technical expertise and the dedication of the entire team. Numerous students worked for many months on the development and construction of the vehicle, implementing innovative solutions across various technical disciplines.
For ELB, fostering the next generation of engineers is closely linked to passing on practical industrial experience. As part of our collaboration with Rennschmiede Pforzheim, we supported the team by performing surface finishing on various aluminum components of the vehicle.
The components processed included parts from the chassis, steering, and vehicle structure systems. The surface treatment provides the components with improved corrosion protection and a durable surface—important properties for the demanding conditions of the Formula Student competition.
For the students, this collaboration offers the opportunity to directly integrate industrial manufacturing and surface treatment technologies into vehicle development and to gain valuable experience at the intersection of design, materials science, and production. It is precisely this practical focus that makes Formula Student an outstanding platform for training future engineers.
